As part of the expansion of our University’s successful activities we are seeking to appoint a Human Resources Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Provides a professional HR service to University staff, and to contribute to the development of the University’s HR strategy.
2.Provides general information and informs University employees of University policies and procedures as they relate to the specific human resources functional area.
3.Provides answers to routine questions, resolves policy or procedure – related problems and refers more complex questions and requests to Human Resources Manager.
4.Updates and maintains human resources document tracking systems and databases, and official personal files.
5.Responsible for incoming calls phones and answering queries related to human resources, payroll and the job application process.
6.Undertakes administrative support for recruitment e.g. arranging interviews, preparing paperwork and processing contracts for staff paid by the hour.
7.Replies to incoming email requests on current openings to interested parties.
8.Screens incoming on-line applications for minimum requirements before processing application.
9.Handles all staff benefits according to the instructions of Human Resource Manager which are related to annual leave, medical scheme, maternity, sick leave etc.
10.Supports the HR Manager in specific project work.
11.Deals with disciplinary issues, supporting HR Manager to taking appropriate actions.
12.Deals with HRDA and its documentation regarding training proposals and funding.
13.Undertakes other such duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade of the post as determined by the HR Manager.
